Tiger Airways Singapore Pte Ltd, operating as Tigerair and established in 2004, is a leading low-cost airline based in Singapore. Headquartered in the Honeywell Building in Changi, Singapore, the airline is a fully owned subsidiary of Tiger Airways Holdings. Tiger Airways operates flight services to regional destinations across 37 destinations in 12 countries in Southeast Asia, Australia, China and India from its main hub at Singapore Changi Airport.Tiger Airways, as part of its cost-saving operations structure, was the first airline to operate from the Budget Terminal at Changi Airport. Despite regional competition, the airline saw a growth of 75% from the previous year when in 2006 the airline carried 1.2 million passengers. Tigerair has won many acclaimed awards, including CAPA Low Cost Airline of the Year for 2006 as well as 2010, they reiterat that its intention at the moment is to remain focused on flying within a five-hour radius from its Singaporean base.Due to the demolition of the Budget Terminal at Singapore Changi Airport, and awaiting completion of the new Terminal 4, expected for completion in 2017, Tigerair Singapore is operating out of Terminal 2.

Passengers can carry two bags onto the plane, together they must not exceed a combined weight of 7kg (or 12kg if cabin+ has been purchased). The dimensions must not exceed: 54cm x 38cm x 23cm. Checked baggage The airline advises that checked luggagae is best purchased when you book your flight. Should you need to add luggage follwing your flight booking however you can.Any single piece of luggage should not weigh more than 15 kg and is an additional cost to the flight ticket. You can even upsize your luggage if you wish.

Singapore Airlines injects more investment into Tiger Airways, demonstrating its resolve to persevere in the low cost segment following the the budget affiliate dropped out of three regional markets.The flag carrier intends to have Tigerair collaborate more closely with its medium and long haul budget airline Scoot, who are familiar with the company's strategy. The aim is for them to share resources akin to the relationship held by SIA and premium regional subsidiary SilkAir. AUGUST 2010 Tiger Airways , together with THAI Airways form a new low-cost carrier called Thai Tiger. Thai Airways will own 51 % of the new airline, while Tiger Airways will hold 49 %. Thai Tiger intend to begin domestic and international services in January 2011, subject to regulatory approvals, and are yet to announce the routes. Key officials of both airlines revere the joint venture. THAI president, Piyasvasti Amranand, exclaimed: “We believe that this move will provide revenue opportunities for THAI and allow THAI to be more competitive in the region with the anticipated growth in the low cost market”

Web check-in is available from 3 days (72 hours) up to 1 hour prior to the scheduled departure time of your flight.
