Ryanair Luggage Allowance

Hand Luggage

Each passenger (except infants) can take one piece of hand luggage on-board Ryanair flights for free. One bag per passenger is allowed in addition to one smaller personal item (gone are the days of stuffing your purse, camera, or shop purchases into your hand luggage). The main piece of luggage must not weigh more than 10kg and cannot exceed the Ryanair baggage allowance size which is: maximum dimensions 55 x 40 x 20 cm. The second item, which can include a handbag, briefcase, laptop, camera, shop purchases, etc. must not be larger than 35 x 20 x 20cm.

Checked Luggage

For health and safety reasons Ryanair does not allow articles that weigh more than 32kg or have dimensions larger than 81 x 119 x 119 cm. This weight limit does not apply to mobility equipment.

Each passenger may check two bags in total paying the applicable checked baggage fee (15 to 20kg) when making the initial reservation. The extra baggage fees apply per person / per flight and are cheaper when booked ahead of time online. Checked baggage allowances can also be pooled, meaning customers included in the same Ryanair flight booking can share their total baggage allowance. For example, if two travellers (on the same reservation) have paid for two 15kg checked bags then one of the travellers can bring a bag weighing 17kg and the other traveller one at 13kg.
